### Flooring with high residual humidity

One of the recurring reasons for rapid pavement deterioration is related to the composition of the concrete mix used, as it contains an excessive amount of water. We ensure the correct dosage of water and concrete mix design, using binders and additives to prevent this type of problem and carry out specific tests on the materials supplied to the construction site.

Another cause is rising damp. There are damp patches on the screed coming from the subfloor below, as there is no vapour barrier. We always install a vapour barrier (polyethylene sheet) of suitable thickness, which prevents moisture from rising from the underlying layers.

### Flooring with cracks

The screed has a few or numerous cracks on the surface. The possible causes can be attributed to an incorrect mix design of the concrete used for the substrate, where the mixture contains an excessive amount of cement, aggregates rich in fine particles, or too much water in the mix. These defects cause problems later on, such as the formation of cracks in the finishing coat, resulting in uncontrolled shrinkage of the substrate or infiltrations that damage its structure.

### Flooring with structural failure

The possible causes are related to the incorrect construction of an underlying roadbed or its poor compaction, or the use of concrete of inadequate quality and strength. We always prevent these issues through careful design and the construction of compliant works. In these situations, we have structural restoration systems in place.

### Surface-damaged flooring

Premature surface wear is often due to a lack of surface hardener (dusting), which causes the surface to become brittle, dusty and absorbent. In these cases, to remedy the problem, consolidation measures must be taken and a new surface layer must be created (insert link to resin coatings).
