When designing or renovating outdoor flooring in public or private spaces, such as squares, pedestrian areas, public parks or communal areas within apartment buildings, the most challenging aspect is selecting the most suitable materials and drainage solutions.
The key is to pick certified materials for the design stage that will actually improve outdoor spaces. The idea is to avoid using materials like asphalt and concrete that are hard to install (such as self-locking and loose gravel) and/or are unstable as much as possible.
As the name suggests, draining concrete is a highly porous concrete that allows liquids to pass through it. These floors are an ecologically sustainable solution for the new development or upgrading of urban areas, as they are compatible with environmental protection and respect. They naturally help reintegrate groundwater and reduce its inflow to the road surface.
All parties must be aware that the concrete mixture may contain grout during installation.
The operating mechanism is simple: water arriving at the surface of Prima Idro® passes through the entire structure and reaches the subsoil, where it replenishes the groundwater. Some of this water evaporates, thereby improving the thermohygrometric conditions of the site.
